Emergency aid for survivors of attacks on Catholic churches in Sri Lanka
On Easter Sunday 2019, Islamic State terrorists carried out bomb attacks on Christian churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, killing more than 250 people and injuring around 500 others. Under the Hungary Helps Program, the Hungarian government has offered emergency aid for seriously injured survivors of the attacks and orphaned children. Our partner, the Sri Lanka Charity, used the donation to provide financial, medical, funeral, transport and legal assistance to the victims of the attacks and their families, as needed.
