Aid for Rohingya Refugees in the Cox's Bazar Refugee Camp
In the conflict-ridden South Asian region, marked by intense religious and ethnic tensions, the issue of providing for refugees presents serious challenges. Since August 2017, at least 700,000 Muslim Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar to Bangladesh, where their situation remains highly uncertain. The provision of basic necessities is not guaranteed, and they are often victims of violent crimes. To assist in this dire situation, Hungary has contributed to the refugee camp established in the Cox’s Bazar area, located about 400 kilometers from Dhaka. This aid package includes medical supplies, essential medicines, and targeted support for the nutrition of pregnant women and children, helping to address some of the immediate needs of these vulnerable populations.
