What began as an idea rooted in hope and solidarity has grown into a powerful journey of transformation. The CREATResili project, co-funded by the European Union, is more than a creative program—it is a lifeline for women in Kosovo facing marginalization and gender-based violence. It is a story of courage, connection, and co-creation, where art becomes a tool for healing and empowerment. This is a brief recap of the milestones we’ve reached together—partners, artists, and women—since the project’s heartfelt launch.
From the Kick-off Meeting in Budapest in December 2023 to the field visit in Pristina in February 2024, we have built a strong foundation of trust and collaboration. The open call for artists in April and the Summer University in August brought creative minds into the fold, culminating in the selection of three visionary women whose ideas now breathe life into tailor workshops in Kosovo.
Between November 2024 and March 2025, the Residency Program unfolded with deep human connection. Artists Annamária Kmetyó, Borbála Moravcsik, and Miriam Coulibaly worked side by side with women from the Fortis workshop, co-designing garments that carry stories of survival, pride, and cultural identity. Whether through Kmetyó’s “Reveal Dress,” Moravcsik’s wool-and-wood vests, or Coulibaly’s embroidered “Pockets Jacket,” each piece speaks of resilience and rebirth.
The mid-term partner meeting in Budapest in February 2025 offered a moment to reflect on progress, celebrate achievements, and prepare for what lies ahead. Soon, we will welcome the participants of the Residency Program to our office, where they will share their experiences, stories, and the impact of this journey on their lives. It will be a powerful reminder that when art, empathy, and community come together, change is not only possible—it is inevitable.
This is only the beginning. Through creativity, compassion, and collective strength, CREATResili is weaving a future where every woman can reclaim her story—and wear it with pride.
