Working for the dignity of Christian refugees by supporting the "Garden of Mercy" project

Launched by the Apostolic Nunciature in Amman, the Garden of Mercy project in Amman and Madaba is a complex response to the challenges faced by Syrian and Iraqi refugees in the country. The Garden of Mercy programme, supported by the Jordanian Charity in several phases, provides training and self-sufficiency for Iraqi Christian refugees and agricultural infrastructure development for Jordanian Christians in the Karak Governorate who have modest financial resources, enabling farmers to sustainably meet the basic needs of their families and their environment. In this way, the project will help reduce the region's dependence on foreign aid and increase its capacity to sustain its population for future generations. The Franciscan Order in Hungary is also helping to market the handicraft products manufactured under the programme, which can be purchased both in Szentkút, the pilgrimage site and in Budapest.
