Support for the energy modernization of the Markai Roman Catholic School
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem currently operates a total of 25 Christian schools in Jordan, with more than 8,000 Christian students enrolled. The educational activities conducted by the institutions maintained by the Patriarchate play a significant role in preventing migration to larger cities and abroad, making the long-term sustainability of these schools critically important. Access to education for Christian children is essential for the survival of the Christian community in Jordan; however, the educational infrastructure often struggles to keep pace with the increasing number of students. This highlights the urgent need for the renovation of the school building in Markah, located in Amman Governorate. The Markah school serves students from first to tenth grade, catering to over 500 learners, nearly 200 of whom are Iraqi refugees. Hungarian support has contributed to the energy modernization of the Roman Catholic school operated by the Patriarchate's Jordanian Vicariate and the improvement of educational conditions.
