Support for the creation of a museum and library in Tuzi to preserve the local cultural heritage, which is of particular importance to the Montenegrin Catholic minority
The Franciscan Mission in Montenegro pays particular attention to the protection of cultural heritage in the Roman Catholic areas of the Balkans. The mission, is made up of five parishes, works in the mixed Christian-Muslim areas of Montenegro, with a centre in Tuzi with around 4,000 parishioners. The Order initiated the creation of a library and museum for the protection and systematic presentation of the intellectual heritage found, which was realised with our support. The project will help to ensure that the heritage, which is both nationally and culturally significant and a key legacy of local Christian identity, is properly protected.
