Right to Sight and Health - Building an eye hospital in Ghana

Dr. Judit Simon, a Hungarian ophthalmologist living in Tamale, Ghana, has received a grant from the Hungary Helps Program to build a new, self-sustaining eye clinic. The need for a new hospital has become necessary due to an increase in the number of patients, as the current building can no longer accommodate them. Construction of the hospital, which will include two operating theatres, began in June 2021. The lack of comprehensive and quality eye care is a major challenge throughout Ghana. The Foundation provides easily accessible and affordable eye care to those at risk of blindness, and total social marginalisation, regardless of age, tribe, religion or financial status.
