The consequences of the coronavirus epidemic and natural disasters exponentially affect Christians living in crises areas, who are often at risk of terrorism, therefore the Government of Hungary decided to support the Syrian, Lebanese, Congolese and Nigerian Christian communities.
Thanks to Hungarian support worth a total of HUF 52 million, local churches can provide long-term food to their followers most exposed to food crises. The basic principle of the Hungary Helps Program is that help should be taken where the trouble is, not the trouble be brought here. This donation also contributes to allow people living in crisis areas remain in their homeland and thus reducing the pressure of migration on Hungary.
