We are very proud to announce that Ibrahem Sabra, student of the Budapest Business University received the Excellence and Creativity Award of the Hungarian National Bank.

The Excellence and Creativity Award of the Hungarian National Bank is open to all full-time students with state scholarships and self-paying, who study economics in the undergraduate and the master’s degree programs in Hungarian or in English, and provide outstanding academic, scientific and community performance but only 3% of them can receive the award based on the evaluation of the universities. 25 higher education institutions are currently participating in the Program.

Ibrahem studied economics in Syria, he also got a diploma in civil engineering and now he is finishing his second bachelor degree in Commerce and Marketing in Hungary.

During his journey in Hungary Ibrahem has been participating in several activities and several fields.

He was invited to the Religious Freedom and other Human Rights: Threats and Trends Conference in Poland, as well as, he participated in several volunteering activities. For example, after the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, he did a voluntary work with his church in Budapest to provide Humanitarian assistance to those affected by this natural disaster.

Ibrahem also mentioned that in addition to his studies in economics he also translated poems of the famous Hungarian poet, Sándor Petőfi into Arabic language to celebrate the 200 years anniversary of the birth of the poet. He chose a poem that explains the difficult Hungarian reality at that time and he compared it with the current reality in his home country, Syria.

Also, Ibrahem won in the MITO KLUB competition after proving his logical and creative thinking, decision taking skills and his business knowledge.
